All the sponsorship monies have now been collected in and with Gift Aid, it looks as though we will exceed £3500 - which is absolutely fantastic! Well done everybody - walkers and all the many people behind the scenes who cooked food and/or helped with the provision of refreshments, provided raffle prizes and those all organised the raffle. A VERY BIG THANK YOU FROM ME AND ALL MY FAMILY for all your kindness and generosity in giving this event your unqualified support. I now have some photos (thank you Sylvia) of the day to share (see below) Ron

Fortunately, it was a fine day on 22 March and this walk was completed successfully by all by the 20 walkers who entered, with the accolade going to Daphne Knights who at 80 years of age completed 4 miles and raised a significant sum in sponsorship for the event. Currently waiting for the final sponsorship monies and gift-aid to be received but the figure raised by everyone currently is just nudging £3500!!!!! Wow!!! I never thought we could achieve so much, but big thanks are due to everyone who supported us, not only by walking on the day, but by donating raffle prizes and food as well. Also, those many persons who willingly gave their time to preparing and serving the refreshments afterwards for over 40 people deserve a particular mention because of their hard work behind the scenes. I will be eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity of my family, friends and others who I do not know but who have contributed to making the event a fantastic success in memory of Delia - my darling wife, devoted mother of my four children and loving granny to her six grandchildren.
